Supervisor

The right candidate will be knowledgeable in the pet industry and have experience with all facets of Pet Store Animal Care including:

• Small Animals
• Reptiles
• Fish
• Amphibians
• Birds

Key Animal Responsibilities:

• In charge of the overall Health, Welfare and proper handling of all live animals
• Be knowledgeable of and adhere to Department of Agriculture rules and standards
• Order all store livestock following established guidelines
• Work with new Staff to ensure all are trained in basic care and needs of each live animal
• Work to train staff on proper animal setup (store vs. home environment)
• Ensure cleanliness standards of all animal enclosures and fish tanks.
• Help to develop a fun and knowledgeable “Destination Experience” to our customers

Sales & Inventory Responsibilities

• Work with the Merchandising Manager to ensure animal care products are stocked properly.
• Work with Staff to ensure overstock is pulled from the warehouse and shelves maintained daily.
• Ensure Animal Supply areas are clean, organized and merchandized appropriately
• Notify Store Manager of any product needs or stock issues
• Notify Store Manager of all Store Use Animal care needs weekly
• Responsible for Department budgeted Sales goals, gross margin and inventory loss

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Experience:

• Supervisory Level Pet Care in a Retail Store: 1 year (Preferred)
