We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at the Foundry on Fifth. We are looking to develop a new and innovative TAPAS menu for our bar and need someone with experience to spearhead this endeavor.
You will be responsible for the design of our menu, overseeing the kitchen operations, managing a team of culinary professionals, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and exceptional dining experiences. Duties:
- Plan and execute menu items in accordance with customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal availability
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and proper cooking techniques
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain smooth kitchen operations
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials that meet customer demands
- Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency in taste, appearance, and quality
- Monitor kitchen equipment performance and coordinate repairs or maintenance as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following sanitation guidelines
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience working in the food industry as a Chef or similar role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Excellent knowledge of culinary arts, including various cooking techniques and ingredients
- Experience in menu planning and development
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food service management principles
