The Cashier/Host is responsible for providing pleasant, prompt and efficient guest service while seating guests in restaurants, taking and preparing orders, and processing payment transactions.
• Ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by creating a friendly environment and following Jackson Rancheria Guest Service Guidelines. • Greets guests upon arrival and provides them with a prompt and courteous escort to a dining table, presents menus and may take beverage orders.• Maintains seating chart with servers’ station assignments and ensures that guests are seated in the appropriate areas and advises guests of waiting time and maintains a waiting list when needed.• Will learn the menu and how the food is prepared in order to service guests and can communicate information about venues, menus and pricing. • Answer questions pertaining to the ingredients in food items being sold.• Handles small to large sums of currency, coupons, comps, credit cards and other forms of payment, adhering to established cash handling policies and procedures.• Accurately enters food and beverage orders into point of sale system.• Will learn and/or use suggestive selling techniques. • Communicates with guest in a respectful and friendly fashion to answer inquiries and concerns, referring them to the appropriate personnel when necessary.• Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.• Stock Merchandise cases and supplies including proper rotation of food items.• Follow proper food handling and health and safety regulations. • Take, prepare and fill Guest food orders including sandwich preparation and heating “to go” items. • Take, prepare and fill Guest beverage orders including preparation of coffee drinks such as Mochas, Lattes, espressos etc.• Minor food preparation which may include cutting produce and slicing meat.• Maintain cleanliness of guest dining areas, menus, point of sales signage, cashier and host stands and food preparation and merchandising equipment.• Performs pre-bussing of tables on a continual basis including keeping tables free of dirty dishes and excess clutter.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Pay range: $16.00 - $20.80 per hour
*Shift Differential: Non-Exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00pm and 6:00am.This is not a smoke free workplace. Although we employ state-of-the-art air filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment.
