POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting the Facilities Department with projects at the Ojibwa Casino, including building repair, painting, construction, and remodeling as well as special projects. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all work orders and requests are completed in a timely manner and quality basis. The position supervises the maintenance workers and assists with plumbing, carpentry, HVAC repair, electrical as assigned. This position is responsible for maintenance staff scheduling, direction/guidance and completion of performance evaluations.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
1. A high school diploma, High School Certificate of Completion, or GED is required.
2. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in carpentry, electricity, plumbing and HVAC repair is essential.
3. One (1) year of experience supervising staff is required. Knowledge of and experience with using power hand tools is required.
4. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
5. Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License, - Michigan preferred or if another state must obtain Michigan Driver’s License within 90 days of hire, have a good driving record, maintain license through employment and be insurable to operate fleet vehicles ** Must sign the KBIC Driving Record Check Form. **
6. Excellent customer/employee relation skills are required. The individual must be able to deal with the general public and fellow employees with tact, courtesy, respect, objectivity and maturity.
7. Must have a satisfactory work and attendance record.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop and squat.
2. Must be able to work indoors and out in varying weather conditions.
3. Occasionally crawl, climb to heights, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull.
4. Frequently lift and/or carry up to (50) fifty pounds.
5. Occasionally carry, and/or lift (74) seventy-four pounds without help and one hundred (100) pounds with assistance.
6. Must be able to tolerate varying levels of noise, dust and/or smoke.
7. Employee must pass a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
