POSITION SUMMARY

The Set-Up position is responsible for executing the production schedule through coordinating changeovers and maintaining equipment, allowing associates to produce quality products within their production standards

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Area Champion as well with specific subject matter expertise in the rapid set-up and changeover of work cells.

· Ensure equipment is maintained and optimized as well as material, components, and work instructions for areas are correct and available as needed to assure maximum uptime of production

· Perform routine complex troubleshooting and problem solving.

· Provide suggestions for improvements to leadership and engineering team via the written communication process

· Generate work orders for maintenance to address items greater than small repair and adjustments

· Be the liaison between equipment and production planning issues and complications

· Manage multiple priorities and complex schedules

· Ability to perform tolerance checks and read blueprints

· Follow the required standard work and achieve the published standard work and quality goals

· Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures; including, but not limited to wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE)

· Delegate responsibility to sustain 5S.

· Work and communicate in a professional manner with all business associates

· Initiates and participates in continuous improvement activities

· Other duties within department as assigned (including, but not limited to, directing workforce to minimize downtime, access supporting business systems, collect and organize production measurements and metrics data, support and cover for leads in running production floor, to include all duties associated with grade levels 2, 3 and 4 etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS

· Lock-Out/Tag Out certification

· First Aid and CPR Certification

· Sit down forklift certification

EDUCATION:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must possess strong basic shop math skills

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

· Basic computer skills with internet experience

· Strong mechanical aptitude/ability with working knowledge of nailers, riveters, drivers, dozers, crimping machines, pad print units and other equipment

· Knowledge of TPM methodologies and procedures

· Knowledge of Lean Principles, SQDC, 5S and Continuous Improvement Processes
