BUILDING INSPECTOR jobs in Manchester, NH

DUTIES:

• This position is responsible for issuing all permits including building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related permits required by the town
• Conducts inspections of all new construction and renovation projects to assure compliance with adopted codes and ordinances, including residential, agricultural, commercial and industrial.
• Addresses any health concerns i.e., landlord tenant disputes related to minimum housing standards i.e. no heat, water, leaks, vermin, etc.; investigates failed septic systems and complaints of hoarding and other related issues.
• Enforces violations and attends court as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma; 3 - 5 years’ experience in construction. sanitation, engineering; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four years’ experience in code enforcement experience preferred, or a combination of education, training, and experience.
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
