BUILDING INSPECTOR inspects initial construction and additional repairs to ensure adherence to contract specifications, building ordinances, and zoning laws. The City of Pewaukee has a current need for a Commercial Building Inspector who is primarily responsible for plan reviews (buildings less than 50,000 cubic feet) and building inspections of commercial building construction and commercial HVAC systems. This inspector also shares the responsibility for inspections of residential building construction, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems as well as assisting with property maintenance compliance.
The pay range for this position is $30.24 to $41.47 per hour depending on qualifications and experience; the City offers a generous benefits package and an excellent working environment. Hours of work are Monday-Friday from 8-4:30 pm with a half hour unpaid lunch break.
Qualified applicants will have five or more years of commercial construction and/or building inspection experience and possess the Commercial Building certification. Preferred candidates will also have Wisconsin UDC building, HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing certifications or the willingness to obtain. Candidates must possess a Wisconsin driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record.
