BUILDING INSPECTOR inspects initial construction and additional repairs to ensure adherence to contract specifications, building ordinances, and zoning laws. May be assigned to residential or commercial structures. Being a BUILDING INSPECTOR may require an advanced degree. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. The BUILDING INSPECTOR works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a BUILDING INSPECTOR typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Willdan Engineering has current openings for a part-time ICC Certified Building Inspector in the Janesville WI area. The qualified individual will be responsible for inspections of residential, commercial, industrial, and other buildings during and after construction.
Position Requirements
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must have ICC Certification ICC building inspector (Commercial and/or Residential)
- 3-5 years’ experience
- Municipal experience highly desirable
