Position Description: Construction (QA) Inspector
***Work Location: Santa Barbara County, CA, VSFB****
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
Essential Duties
- Onsite construction quality assurance (QA) Inspection, identifying and reporting potential construction issues to the proper authorities
- preparing quality assurance reports, logging, reviewing, and distributing submittals, quality control plans
- review safety plans with recommendations for corrective actions, identify any deficiencies and recommends for corrective actions, perform safety inspections when required, and notify RE and/or COR whenever suspicious activities is observed
- Provide onsite administrative services, jobsite safety, quantity verifications, monitor construction progress and report to appropriate authority
- project coordination with the Resident Office
- tracking and reporting daily job activities, review of network analysis schedules (NAS)
- preliminary analysis of construction claims; and other incidental services related to construction phase services
Required Experience
- At least seven years of QAR experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract
- Experience enforcing EM 385-1-1 and all applicable safety requirements
- Experience enforcing OSHA rules and regulations
- Demonstrates experience with performing the following duties: submittal review, quality verification, validating contractor pay request and preparing daily reports
- Minimum of three contracts listed similar in size, scope and complexity to the requirements
- Experience with Federal Construction projects, particularly USACE, is preferred.
- Should be well versed in the USACE three-phase inspection system, understanding both the contractor's Quality Control and Government Quality Assurance responsibilities and the differences between them.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Trained in OSHA construction safety
QARs will be working in remote locations where they will experience extreme environmental conditions (e.g. varying beach and coastal climates across the seasons.) Must be physically capable of enduring these conditions.
