Education/Training
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in the building trades, construction or a related field. A degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction or related field may substitute for two years of experience.
Experience
Three years as Building Inspector I with Clallam County or five years of comparable experience with another agency.
Special Requirements
ICC certification as a building inspector is required (5 credits) and additional certification credits worth 9 credits from the following: plan review, plumbing, mechanical, fire, or energy code. Three additional certification credit values may be obtained within one year following the date of hire. Possession of a valid Washington State Driver’s License; ability to successfully pass all testing and examinations which measure ability to perform essential job functions.
