Building Inspector, Sr. inspects initial construction and additional repairs to ensure adherence to contract specifications, building ordinances, and zoning laws. May be assigned to residential or commercial structures. Being a Building Inspector, Sr. may require an advanced degree. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. The Building Inspector, Sr. gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Minimum Education and Certification: Equivalent to completion of High School or GED plus at least one year of specialized training in the building trades, construction and/or code enforcement. |
Minimum Experience: Five (5) year of increasingly responsible experience in building inspection. Or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the position duties and responsibilities. |
Certification: Must obtain International Code Council Certification. Must maintain valid Colorado driver's license. |
