Building Inspector, Sr. inspects initial construction and additional repairs to ensure adherence to contract specifications, building ordinances, and zoning laws. May be assigned to residential or commercial structures. Being a Building Inspector, Sr. may require an advanced degree. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. The Building Inspector, Sr. gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Building Maintenance

  • Elyria Plastic Products is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Tech.  Pay is based on experience.
     
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior.
    • Sweeps and maintains clean shipping docks at primary location as well as warehouse. This is two be done weekly as weather permits.
    • Monthly inspection of fire extinguishers at both primary location and warehouse.
    • Maintains emergency eyewash stations
    • Conducts preventative maintenance on AC units
    • Inspects cranes and slings
    • Monthly inspection of exit lights
    • Painting
    • Basic plumbing and electrical
    • Monitors and changes lightbulbs as needed
    • Assembles and disassembles furniture as needed
    • Shoveling of snow on walkways and parking lots in winter months
    • Salting of walkways and parking lots in winter months
    • Monitors building cleanliness and keeps up with basic cleaning needs
    • Litter pick up in parking lot and along fence lines
    QUALIFICATIONS

    • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
      • Associates Degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two year College or technical school; six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
     
    • LANGUAGE SKILLS
      • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
     
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
      • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
     
    • REASONING ABILITY
      • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
