Building and Grounds Maintenance Person (Part-time, seasonal)

Responsible for ensuring that buildings and grounds remain attractive, orderly, and safe.  Position is part-time, approximately 20 to 25 hours per week, from spring through early fall.

LOCATION

Derby, Vermont

TASKS

• Mow grass and maintain grounds, including trim work with a weed trimmer, and mulch bed and driveway maintenance.
• Collect and remove trash and debris from buildings and grounds and place in appropriate receptacles.
• Dispose of excess, defective, or obsolete stock and steel from the shop and trash.
• Perform routine check of facilities to ensure conditions remain clean and safe to all staff, customers, and the general public.
• Clean interior and exterior of equipment and vehicles, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

MUST HAVES

• Ability to use a lawn mower, weed trimmer, and other miscellaneous maintenance tools.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate clearly with supervisor and coworkers.
• Courtesy and sound judgment when interacting with the public.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously.
• Driver’s license preferred.
