Building and Grounds Supervisor supervises and trains building and grounds maintenance staff. Oversees landscaping activities, the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas, and the removal of trash and snow. Being a Building and Grounds Supervisor maintains and monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning. May be responsible for the housekeeping staff. Additionally, Building and Grounds Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. This is a seasonal position that begins mid-April and ends mid-October. Candidates must be 18 and hold a valid driver license.
INTRODUCTION TO ROLE:
The Groundskeeping Supervisor is responsible for working with, and supervising the work activities of, grounds staff to ensure clean, orderly, and visually appealing grounds and surrounding areas. They are responsible for the daily upkeep of the property, buildings, and grounds.
