Building and Grounds Supervisor jobs in Erie, PA

Building and Grounds Supervisor supervises and trains building and grounds maintenance staff. Oversees landscaping activities, the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas, and the removal of trash and snow. Being a Building and Grounds Supervisor maintains and monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning. May be responsible for the housekeeping staff. Additionally, Building and Grounds Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor.   • Job description
    The Maintenance Technician shall be responsible to assist in the maintenance and repair of Greene Townships Municipal building, grounds and equipment.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that the Municipal properties operate efficiently.
    • Perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, mowing and snow removal.
    • Assist in the cleaning and repairing of building fixtures including lights, windows, doors, walls, gutters and drains.
    • Ability to complete landscaping, masonry, construction and other projects as required
    • Work effectively indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions
    • Comply with random drug and alcohol testing.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of safe work behaviors.
    • Proficient with the tools of the job.
    • Valid Driver’s License and clear driving record.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
    • Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing.
    • Ability to erect and climb ladders and scaffolding.
    • High School diploma or equivalent

    Hourly Compensation
    $18 Full time 40/hrs. per week Monday through Friday with some weekend hours
