Building and Grounds Supervisor jobs in Hammond, IN

National Cleaning company seeking reliable candidate with experience for Part Janitorial/Supervisor role to cover -Indiana and Southern Illinois. 

Responsibilities

• Working 4 hrs a day cleaning,
• Vacuuming
• Edging
• Dusting
• Cleaning and stocking restrooms and breakrooms
• Window cleaning
• Emptying trash and transporting to proper disposal area
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• May perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain safety procedures by handling cleaning equipment and supplies according to company protocol
• Oversee multiple buildings in Ilinois and Indiana
• Perform Bi-Monthly inspections on all Buildings 
• Training and monitoring the Janitorial staff to ensure an orderly, safe, and efficient cleaning operation
• Responsible for hiring for all locations
• Scheduling shifts, work hours, and payroll for the crew members
• Communicate with client as needed
• Documenting and managing contract performance based on key performance indicators
• Ordering, stocking, and replenishing supplies, tools, and equipment
• Demonstrating and documenting continuous improvements for assigned operations and staff

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

• Proven working experience as a Supervisor
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• High school diploma or GED required
• Preference of minimum of two years’ experience as a commercial cleaner
• Preference of minimum of one year in a supervisory, leading, or managing role
• Preference Bi-Lingual (Both English and Spanish speaking)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully in accordance with local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must possess a vehicle for travel (mileage will be reimburses if used professionally)
