The Eudora School District seeks a qualified and motivated individual to serve as a Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker. The Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker plays a pivotal role in maintaining the district grounds and facilities to ensure an optimal environment for educational activities. By closely collaborating with the administration and staff of USD 491, the Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker contributes to enhancing educational opportunities for students and upholding the district's reputation.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license.
• Commitment to continuous career development in the chosen field.
• Proficiency in operating light and medium-duty machinery.

Essential Functions:

• Preserve district grounds and facilities to support educational excellence and uphold the district's reputation.
• Adhere to the supervisor’s guidelines in all activities.
• Foster effective communication with school district members and the community.
• Provide instruction on equipment operation and ensure safe usage.
• Operate vehicles and equipment as needed to fulfill responsibilities.
• Champion the value of education and align with the philosophy and mission of USD 491.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

• Prolonged standing or walking.
• Physical exertion to handle heavy objects or materials.
• Stooping, bending, crawling, kneeling, turning, and reaching.
• Climbing and balancing.
• Driving skills required.

General Responsibilities:

• Assess needs and take appropriate actions, demonstrating initiative and effectiveness in addressing needs.
• Prioritize tasks effectively.
• Report unsafe equipment or other concerns promptly.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Assist the Director in budgeting for grounds supplies and equipment.
