Building and Grounds Supervisor supervises and trains building and grounds maintenance staff. Oversees landscaping activities, the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas, and the removal of trash and snow. Being a Building and Grounds Supervisor maintains and monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning. May be responsible for the housekeeping staff. Additionally, Building and Grounds Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Building supervisors deliver excellent service to all members, guests and program participants. The primary responsibility is to provide overall supervision of the YMCA facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Builds relationships with members, prospective members, program participants, volunteers, and staff to gain and retain memberships.
2. Walk around the building checking all rooms and areas consistently throughout shift.
3. Clean designated building areas
4. Restock cleaning supplies for members throughout the building.
5. Relates to the public in a positive manner, addressing member concerns and interacting with participants as well as informing supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
6. Assists with Front Desk supervisor as needed.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $10.50/hour.
