Building and Grounds Supervisor supervises and trains building and grounds maintenance staff. Oversees landscaping activities, the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas, and the removal of trash and snow. Being a Building and Grounds Supervisor maintains and monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning. May be responsible for the housekeeping staff. Additionally, Building and Grounds Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor.     $18.00/Hourly

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for repair and maintenance of facility and equipment.
    • Follow established maintenance procedure, safety rules and procedures, and good housekeeping practices.
    • Maintain clear and accurate records of repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections.
    • Requisition parts and supplies.
    • Ability to use hand and pneumatic tools.
    • Operate forklift, overhead crane and other material handling equipment.
    • Must be willing to work overtime and call-in hours as required.
    • Work requires close interaction with other associates. Must be able to function in a team-oriented environment.
    • Maintain a safe and orderly work area.


    Skills Knowledge and Expertise

    The ideal candidate will embody the following characteristics and possess the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below:
    • Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
    • Hardworking.
    • Physical ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50lbs force frequently.
    • Comfortable working in extreme heat and cold.
    • Ability to use basic hand tools, gauges and test equipment.
