Building and Grounds Supervisor supervises and trains building and grounds maintenance staff. Oversees landscaping activities, the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas, and the removal of trash and snow. Being a Building and Grounds Supervisor maintains and monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning. May be responsible for the housekeeping staff. Additionally, Building and Grounds Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. Position Summary
The position is responsible for directing the Racine Correctional Institution buildings and grounds maintenance and repair program.
purchases maintenance supplies and services, insures that inventories are maintained, performs record keeping and other administrative duties, supervises Persons In Our Care (PIOC) workers and maintains security in work areas.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule / range 81-04 with an annual salary of $64,043 - $77,584 , plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the State Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes.
A twelve-month probationary period is required.
