Position Purpose:

The Bursar Service Desk Supervisor supports the Bursar and oversees the daily tasks of the Student Accounts Specialists to ensure an excellent customer experience for Charis students as it pertains to their financial requirements and inquiries. This position works closely with the Charis Accounting team concerning tuition balances.

Due to the operating hours of the Bursar window, Day School students will not be considered. Hybrid students and alumni are encouraged to apply.

Schedule Availability Needed: 7:00am-3:30pm Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays for Hybrid School for up to 4 hours.

Essential Duties:

• Oversee the daily operations of the Student Accounts Specialists to include:
  • Receive and process payments for tuition, mission trips, and academic fees
  • Receivepayments made towardtuition, mission trips, and academic fees
  • Process student refunds for tuition overpayments
  • Monitor and respond to Bursar email inquiries in a timely manner
  • Daily reconciliation of The Office of the Bursar cash drawer
  • Set up and revise automatic payment information
  • Communicate with students in a timely and professional manner about past-due amounts
  • Provide students with tuition and mission trip balances
• Ensure all tasks are completed by deadlines
• Process student withdrawals, dismissals, and campus changes
• Perform quality assurance checks and audits of student accounts to ensure accuracy
• Professionally communicate with students face to face, over the phone, and through email
• Ensure an excellent customer service experience is provided by the Student Accounts Specialists
• Keep abreast of any changes in policies and procedures and communicate them in a timely manner to Student Accounts Specialists
• Provide necessary training to Student Accounts Specialists
• Scheduling of Student Accounts Specialists to ensure adequate coverage of the Bursar window
• Verify, update, and approve payroll information
• Forecast needs and staff the Student Accounts Specialist team
• Research and compile reports as needed to Charis Accounting and upper management
• Identify and make recommendations for process improvements
• Communicate with AWM Accounting and other departments as needed
• Other duties as assigned by Bursar

• Knowledge of cashiering and cash management principles, systems, procedures, and standards.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community.
• Excellent math skills.
• Excellent customer service, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills for the best student experience, effectively exercising soft skills when conversing with students about tuition delinquencies and other sensitive topics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to administer complex recordkeeping systems and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel.
• Highly detailed, analytical, accurate, and organized.
• Must be able to exercise discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
