Bursar manages and oversees operations of student, faculty, and staff accounts. Provides leadership and direction for tuition and fee structure, financial aid resources, billing and receivables, petty cash, and payments. Being a Bursar is the custodian of institutional funds. Ensures compliance with university, state, and federal regulations and standard accounting procedures. Additionally, Bursar requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a top executive officer. The Bursar typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Bursar typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Position Purpose:
The Bursar Service Desk Supervisor supports the Bursar and oversees the daily tasks of the Student Accounts Specialists to ensure an excellent customer experience for Charis students as it pertains to their financial requirements and inquiries. This position works closely with the Charis Accounting team concerning tuition balances.
Due to the operating hours of the Bursar window, Day School students will not be considered. Hybrid students and alumni are encouraged to apply.
Schedule Availability Needed: 7:00am-3:30pm Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays for Hybrid School for up to 4 hours.
