Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Bursar in Student Accounts. This position is responsible for student accounts receivables, student loans, and student refunds.

Duties may include:

• Hiring, scheduling, and supervising Student Accounts staff and student employees.
• Operation and maintenance of the subsidiary general ledger records for the Federal Perkins Loan Program.
• Operation and maintenance of the subsidiary general ledger records for twelve institutional loan funds.
• Processing returned checks and ACH debit payments.
• Responsible for tracking and billing of College Illinois funds to student account receivables.
• Processing and analyzing payment activity and reports received from the State Offset.
• Responding to inquiries from current and former students.
• Making collection calls and sending letters to former students.

Qualified candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with coursework in accounting and business administration.
• Four years of experience in business administration or in the management of a large office staff, two years of which were in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is a credentials assessment. No participation other than the submission of application materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam.
