Position Function/Purpose

The transportation of students, teachers and other school personnel in the safest and most efficient manner possible.

Major Responsibilities

1. Demonstrate a knowledge of Driving safety rules
2. Demonstrate the ability to perform duties as assigned by supervisor
3. Demonstrate the ability to work well with fellow personnel
4. Assume responsibility for the care of the bus and related equipment
5. Execute DOT inspections and Zonar inspections
6. In – service Training – will need to obtain a minimum of 65.5 hours per school year.
7. Follow policies and procedures regarding student bus discipline
8. Demonstrate punctuality when performing duties
9. Follow policies and procedures related to absence from duty
10. Responsible for safely loading and unloading students daily and performing emergency evacuation drills
11. Responsible for the assignment of seats for students and oversee the student rosters
12. Able to drive route according to scheduled route plan
13. Responsible on servicing and up keep of buses and performing exit checks.
14. Demonstrate a positive attitude and provide great customer service when working with students and parents
15. Perform all other duties as assigned by Director of Transportation

Qualification Requirements

1. The ability to read and write English
2. Minor computer skills needed
3. Physical examination to determine fitness to drive a bus
4. Pass DOT drug and alcohol test
5. CDL class B or higher
