increases occur annually thereafter, until top step is reached.

BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, Maintenance, Operations and Transportation, drive any transit-type or smaller school bus
to transport students in accordance with the requirements of school transportation schedules and traffic laws. Commitment to Los

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Graduation from high school and a safe driving record.
Valid California Special Driver Certificate for School Bus (DL-45)
Valid California Class A or B driver license with passenger endorsement
Valid medical card (DL-51)
Valid Red Cross First Aid Card – only required if there is a restriction #6 on the Special Driver Certificate
K-4 printout (current – within 30 days)
Copy of T01 and T02 (Training Documents)

Examination:
Applications may be screened to select the most qualified candidates.
The examination will consist of:
A – Written job knowledge test (30% of Total Score)
B – Structured oral interview (70% of Total Score)
C – Practical Bus Inspection and Bus Operation (Pass/Fail)
Some classifications require you to pass a physical examination and/or a practical examination. This examination is at the district’s expense and
the appointment is not assured until you have passed this examination. Applicants must attain a passing score of 70% on each part of the
examination in order to be placed on the eligibility list. Should a large number of candidates pass the written exam, a higher passing score than

Candidates who pass the written and panel interview will be placed on an eligibility list valid for six (6) months.
