Works effectively with Leadership team, physician leaders and a variety of Billings Clinic Main Campus Departments to plan, organize, facilitate and monitor the activities and functions of Billings Clinic Bozeman’s structure and strategy. The Business Manager and Consultant will be responsible to provide leadership and direction for the services provided at the Billings Clinic Bozeman to ensure continuity and consistency across and throughout departments and in the region. Ensures the delivery of cost-effective health care services in line with the Billings Clinic mission, vision, values and goals. Accountabilities include strategic financial planning, program and project development, and responsibility to manage department process improvement. Facilitates break through improvements in key processes to support overall strategic initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

• Monitors business trends, works collaboratively with Leadership and providers to identify new and/or expansion of existing services within the services lines for the Billings Clinic Bozeman.
• Provides value analysis support, data collection support for quality improvement initiatives, manages business and financial projects as assigned.
• Oversight of process and project flow with staff and leadership members.
• Assists and supports the managers and leaders with project management needs to include data gathering, financial analysis, Proforma, ROI, capital equipment requests, etc.
• Performs comprehensive analyses of existing operations, new business opportunities and service line data.
• Creates and maintains monthly operational scorecards for the Billings Clinic Bozeman. Prepares specific statistical reports to assist members of the Leadership team with projects, goals and or assignments.
• Assists in identifying and prioritizing opportunities to reduce expenses, increase revenue, improve customer satisfaction, improve quality or reduce process cycle times within Billings Clinic Bozeman.
• Manages and drives the progression of projects and facilitates teams through the completion of the various projects. Partners with Billings Clinic Bozeman leaders and other organization business unit leaders to prioritize project opportunities and acts as a change agent resource for leaders.
• Trains and coaches leaders and project owners and staff in effective approaches, measurement systems and techniques to achieve sustainable process improvement within Billings Clinic Bozeman.
• Oversight of special-order workflow and serves as a liaison with Supply Chain.
• Participates in the development and monitoring of a cost-effective annual budget.
• Working with leaders and managers, performs the functions of assisting in the interviewing, hiring, scheduling, establishing priorities and assigning workloads, and orientation/training as coordinated with the Managers, Clinical Coordinators and Human Resources Business Partner. Responsible for adhering to established human resource management policies and procedures.
• As department builds and additional staff is hired, participates in performance reviews, coaching/counseling as requested and may partner with managers and HRBP regarding disciplinary actions.
• Oversight of preference card standardization as it relates to revenue capture and efficiencies.
• Oversight of procedural supplies, CDM completion, charge capture, regulatory compliance as it pertains to supplies and reporting requirements.
• Maintains vendor relationships and review of contracts.
• May assist in Billings Clinic Bozeman charge auditing and reconciliation processes.
• Reviews and investigates all aspects of the patient access and revenue cycle of services to maximize charge capture and ensure appropriate reimbursement for services.
• Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
