Business Analytics Director manages and oversees business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives. Utilizes KPIs, business performance data, industry trends, competitor intelligence, and customer information to develop analytical tools, reports, and models across the organization to inform and support decision-making. Being a Business Analytics Director consults with stakeholders to understand the business model, objectives, issues, and challenges that analytics can support. Develops standards and collection processes to support robust analytics and reporting data pipelines. Additionally, Business Analytics Director builds teams with statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis skills to support the business. Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics or a quantitative field. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Business Analytics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Business Analytics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     The Associate Manager, Global Consumer Insights & Business Analytics will partner with the marketing team in creating & implementing brand strategy, developing white space innovations, and executing insightful communications. The CIBA associate Manager will ensure, through both qualitative and quantitative methods, that the marketing team is driving a consumer-first agenda. You will drive the direction of decision-making through a clear understanding of the category landscape, brand positioning (SCJ brands and competitors), the needs and trends driving each category, and the human insights behind successful marketing activations.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    This position will report to the Consumer Insights & Business Analytics Director, with key responsibilities to build a learning agenda for strategic initiatives in collaboration with the marketing & R&D teams. Specifically, the Global CIBA Associate Manager, will deliver strategic consumer insights to further grow the brand through innovation and brand building initiatives.

    Strategy and Branding

    • Embed the understanding of the target audience, consumer attitudes and behaviors and product usage/benefits into the development of brand strategy documents, including Brand Hearts, Architecture, and Audience.
    • Manage the design, execution, analysis, and implication/recommendation communication of insight and analytics projects/initiatives to drive business decisions.

    Innovation ideation & development

    • Track category performance & drive diagnostics to identify growth opportunities
    • Guide the development of new concepts and ideas, using consumer feedback to optimize.
    • Test ideas on a regular cadence in partnership with the marketing team to ensure a robust funnel of ideas is consistently being generated.

    Communications Development and Research

    • Support the development of insightful communications that are fueled by consumer needs. Evaluate early-stage ideas and final executions, ensure appropriate optimizations are made before in-market launch. Monitor performance of communications in-market and evaluate competitive communications regularly.

    Trends and Competitive Monitoring

    • Update broader internal team on macro trends, category trends, and economic/social trends.
    • Develop formal trends tracking program with the team, using them as input for new products ideas to fuel the innovation funnel.

    Packaging (2D/3D) & Formula

    • Support brand and R&D teams in evaluating new packaging and formula options, including artwork (2D), structures (3D) and formulas.

    Evaluate new tools and agencies

    • Evaluate new and faster methodologies in the market research industry.
    • Pilot new methods and with the goal of finding go-to partners for the future business.

    Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 4 years of relevant experience
    • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States

    Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

    • Advanced degree in research, psychology, business preferred
    • CPG experience (preferred)
    • Global experience/exposure
    • Experience of working in a matrix organization
    • Conduct analysis using in-house analytics tools, and be comfortable analyzing a range of social and business data
    • Ability to synthesize data and define root cause factors across multiple data sources to build and tell a compelling action-oriented consumer story with credibility to different stakeholders.
    • Act as an owner and manage the design, execution, analysis, and implication/recommendation communication of insight and analytics projects/initiatives to drive business decisions
    • Demonstrate strong Intellectual Curiosity (ex: exploring trends and adjacent category activity to inform brand and product stories)
    • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate dynamic project scopes
