Business Analytics Director manages and oversees business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives. Utilizes KPIs, business performance data, industry trends, competitor intelligence, and customer information to develop analytical tools, reports, and models across the organization to inform and support decision-making. Being a Business Analytics Director consults with stakeholders to understand the business model, objectives, issues, and challenges that analytics can support. Develops standards and collection processes to support robust analytics and reporting data pipelines. Additionally, Business Analytics Director builds teams with statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis skills to support the business. Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics or a quantitative field. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Business Analytics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Business Analytics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     The PMO Director will develop and implement the Ultra Maritime PMO processes and policies, directs project management staff, and works with other IT department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs. The role will also be responsible for regular project audits, tracking overall IT project spend and management duties over the PMO team and manage the annual project portfolio management process. The role will also operate as the Chief of Staff for the Global, IT Organization, reporting to the CIO.

    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the analysis, selection and roll-out of PMO tools that enable the integrated IT delivery model;

    • Provide the necessary training and facilitating skills to project managers to drive transformation activities and ensure long term adoption;

    • Own the logistics plan for project governance/stage-gate decision process and core team meetings;

    • Ensure functional area deliverables are understood, cross-functionally aligned, execution of deliverables and timelines are on track;

    • Bring a deep background in IT Portfolio, Program & Project management;

    • Partner with the IT Business Partners to facilitate an effective, cross-functional governance process to enable portfolio status and health;

    • Leads project quality and post-mortem functions to mitigate and address project delivery challenges in the support of continuous improvement efforts;

    • Prepares regular, thorough and articulate executive summaries for senior leadership on project and team performance;

    • Leads interviewing and IT project management hiring process and provides direct input into performance evaluations;

    • Ensures project adherence to practices, procedures, precedents, policy and Executive Leadership direction;

    • Operate as the Chief of Staff for the Global IT organization;

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, IT or related filed, required;

    • 10 years experience project management required;

    • Exceptional influencing and team development skills;

    • Proficient in Project Management Software;

    • Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams;

    • Strong Microsoft Project and Excel skills;

    • Position requires organizational and planning skills as well as strong oral and written communications;

    • Superior organizational skills, must be able to manage a project portfolio with high priority;

    • The ability to work/lead others through aggressive challenges, obstacles, deadlines and changes is required;

    • Travel up to 25%

    • Ability to perform root cause analysis on issues encountered during project delivery and devise course correction and 'get to green' plans

    • Business first - Focuses on customers and clients, business/financial acumen

    • Inspire - Inspire others, creates vision and strategy, energizes others

    • Proven ability to design and drive change

    • Experience managing third-party vendors/suppliers/partners

    Preferred Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in business, IT, or related filed

    • Manufacturing, Defense, or related industry desired

    License/Certification/Registration

    • Industry relevant Project Management certification(s) desired
