    As an Advanced Development Center Data Analytics Manager (or Group Lead), you will be responsible for leading a team of 10-15 direct reports consisting of data analysts and algorithm developers. This team is responsible developing algorithms and prediction tools in optical metrology, image processing and material science for the design, development, and continuous improvement of tools, process and solutions required to achieve nanometer level surface geometry and flatness for ASML’s most advanced wafer and reticle clamping systems used within ASML’s latest Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) semiconductor lithography systems.

    Role and responsibilities

    Specifically you will be responsible is to lead a team of data analysts to develop computational algorithms in optical metrology system, image processing, physics, material science, mechatronic automation and industrialization to solve challenges of ASML products, predicting product performance, correlation between material science, manufacturing processes and field data and guide the direction of capabilities to enable a deeper understanding of customer product field returns, R&D proto-types and components in various manufacturing stages and product life-cycles.

    As direct line manager, you will partner closely with the Project Managers regarding present and future scope and timing of deliverables. Be accountable for the quality, technical integrity, and planning for on time execution of deliverables. Collaborate on project planning, attend design reviews, and review and approve technical documentation. Be responsible for hiring direct, contract, and intern/Co-Op employees. Meet regularly one on one with your team members and hold regular team meetings to provide mentoring, coaching, and career development guidance. Collect feedback, provide input to salary and promotion decisions, and deliver annual performance evaluations. You will also be challenged to identify and lead continuous improvement projects that improve the way of working, increase collaboration, and streamline our ASML processes.

    • Responsible for people management and career development activities including recruiting, onboarding, training, mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluation.
    • Responsible for leading a group to develop algorithms, build databases, and deployment of algorithms in a cross-functional team to solve engineering challenges encountered related to chemical/material aspects of design/manufacturing processes for optical/ceramic substrates to achieve the precision and life time performance at the nanometer and sub-nanometer scale.
    • Work with multiple engineering disciplines and co-developers to ensure timely realization of competitive, serviceable products that keep the semiconductor industry moving forward.
    • Exposure to multi-disciplinary projects, such as mechatronics or optical systems and developing the skillsets within the Advanced Development Center organization to successfully realize leading edge complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits and microchips.
    • Responsible for resource management working with Project Leaders to anticipate program staffing and skillset needs and to optimally allocate work between onsite personnel and external codevelopers.
    • Lead continuous improvement projects to further improve the quality and efficiency of the organization.
    • This position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

    Education and experience

    Minimum of a Bachelors degree (Masters or greater degree preferred) in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or other engineering; Physics, Material Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or science degree.

    • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in the development of complex high-tech systems. Preferably 3 years of experience in developing computational algorithms in optics.
    • Experience in direct management, project management, or similar leadership experience in a technical field.
    • We are seeking an individual with a strong background in leading design and engineering teams, including taking responsibility of the full development cycle. A background in design of metrology, processes, precision hardware, or complex optical systems is desirable, as well as good complex system and process intuition.

    Preferred skills for this job include:

    • Design exposure to material properties and behavior, kinematics, dynamics, and structural and material analysis.
    • Experience with design conceptualization and product realization.
    • Have direct experience in one or more technical fields: optical metrology, data analysis, lasers, detectors, electro-mechanical and electro-optical devices, electronics, mechanics, material science.
    • Basic experience with analytical techniques, including “first principle” engineering equations, and using (or creating) analytical software to evaluate design performance.
    • Demonstrated ability to derive conclusions from analysis and make practical recommendations.
    • Strong technical writing, communication and presentations skills.
    • Experience in performing data analysis of surface characterization or metrology measurements and correlate with modeling results.
    • Experience with multiple types of programming languages, functional object oriented in one or more of the following: Matlab, Python.
    • Database experiences is preferred: SQL, NoSQL, Cloud database
    • Knowledge/hands-on experience with algorithm CI/CD tools: e.g. GitHub, Jira, Bash, etc.
    • Experience in image processing and data analytics, with deep learning/hybrid algorithms is preferred.
    • Experience with data visualization tools for combining multi-source, multi-parametric data spaces. AR/VR implementation a plus.
