Business Application Delivery Director directs and leads an organization's business application delivery department. Improves operational processes and supports critical business strategies by directing the development, implementation, and maintenance of application systems. Formulates business application architecture plans, estimates costs, and ensures projects meet strategic needs. Leads and develops a team of business application delivery programmers with training in the best practices and technologies. Uses knowledge of the field to keep the department's software, techniques, and tools up to date. Manages resource planning and decision-making. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior/top management. The Business Application Delivery Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Application Delivery Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm

    Location:  Onsite/Remote/Hybrid options

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Application Specialist is responsible for the analysis and maintenance of specific departmental systems applications related to the revenue cycle.  This position is responsible for defining, developing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining system applications in support of the achievement of business and clinic requirements.  This includes testing and analyzing system applications.  The Application Specialist will also research, design, document, and modify application specifications throughout the production life cycle. The Application Specialist is responsible for delivering support to end users based on established and anticipated needs (forward thinking).  This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. The Application Specialist is responsible for assisting in the design, delivery, and improvement of system applications training programs. The Application Specialist will work closely with Director to evaluate and implement new technology to support Revenue Cycle operations.

    This role will focus on build and workflows needed to support claims, remits, insurance follow-up, self-pay and payment posting.

     

    POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
    2. Provide guidance and support of system applications and other supported systems following the software development life cycle and best practices.
    3. Serve as a liaison to end users regarding supported applications, including access to system.
    4. Responsible for application training, including preparing training materials, delivering training, and ensuring users are proficient with the systems in order to retrieve and manipulate data effectively.
    5. Develop help sheets and frequently asked questions lists for end users.
    6. Prioritize and schedule issues and service requests. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriate personnel.
    7. Record, track, and document requests using the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
    8. Support all departmental policies and procedures.
    9. Support formal application change control.
    10. Functions as the primary and/or secondary contact for the applications during implementation and/or upgrades.
    11. Assures that workflow patterns are integrated within application capabilities.
    12. Reviews and understands release notes and version updates and applies the knowledge to testing and implementation activities and end user training.
    13. Improves own and department performance by practicing quality improvement principles in daily work, focusing on process and system improvements and increasing customer satisfaction.
    14. Assures quality and completion of assigned work, including application dictionaries, definition of application profiles and parameters, test plans, Go-live plan and support, and post-live operations and requirements.
    15. Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions.

     

     

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    Education:

    • Required: High school degree or equivalent
    • Preferred: Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in business or computer related field

     

    Experience:

    • Required: Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with EHR applications.
    • Preferred: Thorough knowledge of EHR building and testing techniques.

    Experience working within Meditech EHR.

    Detailed understanding of revenue cycle applications and/or workflows.
