Job Title: Marketing, Communications & Outreach Manager
Reports to: Director of Business Services
Classification: Non-Exempt
Compensation Range: $22.00-$24.00/hour
Purpose: The Marketing & Communications Outreach Manager will play a vital role in enabling BBB’s vision and mission to be communicated, and will be responsible for helping BBB gain increased visibility by identifying effective communications, marketing, public relations, consumer and business outreach while leading a team to effectively tell the BBB story and promote the brand. The Manager plays an active role in supporting and developing staff in communication strategies and tactics as well as being the overseer and executer of a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Environment: Better Business Bureau is a non-profit accredited business organization (501C6) and manages a Foundation (501c3) that provides mediation services. The headquarters are located in Fresno with a branch office in Bakersfield, which services customers in 11 counties from the San Joaquin Valley and Inland Empire by providing reliability reports on companies and charities, advertising review and dispute resolution through conciliation, mediation and arbitration.

Accredited Business Services
· Provide accurate, timely updates to accredited business records through use of prescribed tools and media.
· Answer accredited business inquiries, complete calls in a timely manner, respond to questions regarding accredited business retention, and refer other inquiries as appropriate.

Accredited Business Retention
· Contribute to achievement of accredited business retention targets by developing innovative programs and activities that demonstrate to members the benefits of BBB.
· Personal Touches to ABs as appropriate.
· Program Management including but not limited to Interactive Blue’s Insights.
· Oversee Internship program.
· Other projects and events as needed.
Accredited Business Communication
· Develop and deliver timely, effective communications to accredited business by creating written materials for distribution including, but not limited to, E-alerts and newsletters.
· Provide an up-to-date and cutting edge website for use by current accredited business and to attract new accredited business by managing the content, graphics and design.

Marketing/Public/Community Relations and Sales
· In collaboration with the Director of Business Services, design strategies and implement concrete plans to capitalize on increased visibility and clear branding of BBB to drive increased business membership enrollment, retention, programs and consumer engagement. Includes developing media deliverables from conceptual idea through production in support of the organization’s marketing plan. This includes print, radio, television, web, press releases and other media and social media as applicable. This also includes developing and delivery timely, effective communications to accredited business by creating written materials for distribution including, but not limited to fax-alerts, E-alerts and newsletters.
· Collaborate with director management team to advance BBB brand positioning and to develop marketing and communications strategies and plans that advance BBB brand and drive increased engagement with constituencies. Plan and attend events including but not limited to trade shows, community programs, presentations, shred events, ethics events etc.
· Guide the strategic and consistent use of media, events, and public relations opportunities for programs (such as Smarter Living and Military Line) and development staff in creating and maintaining relationships with key media allies and internal stakeholders (BBB Board and AB’s.
· Proactively serve as Brand Ambassador and seek to implement IABBB strategies and developed products as provided including webinars and task forces. Works with CEO and management directors to develop and maintain community partnerships with media outlets, chambers of commerce, associations, and organizations.
· Create and communicate a compelling story about BBB with the goal of increasing membership, retention and consumer education and engagement.
· Demonstrate and maintain appropriate knowledge of sponsorships and programs of BBB.
· Ensure brand and messaging quality and consistency with established guidelines to apply across all departments, activities and events. Provide assistance in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with other organizations.
· Maintain BBB’s online presence through regular maintenance of BBB’s website (via content management system). Plan and oversee all website SEO/SEM, PPC, marketing database, email, social media and other advertising campaigns. Measure and report the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess these campaigns against goals (ROI and KPI’s).
· Provide leadership and management of market research function by developing and measuring key metrics around critical factors important to BBB’s success.
· Provide leadership to the staff of the marketing, communications, and business services department including staffing recommendations, positioning, management, motivation to ensure professional development and excellence through positive and productive attitudes.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to enter data, write reports. Some lifting, bending, stooping, stretching and reaching as needed to move supplies, files and materials.
This role does require work at multiple locations on occasion, and will require some driving as business needs demand.
Working Remotely
This position offers an opportunity to work “remotely” 60% of the time with required days in the office. Schedule must include consideration of being in the office to accommodate job duties as needed.
