Business Banking Manager manages a business banking team building and maintaining relationships with clients by providing service and support. Ensures clients have an effective team to help them best understand and use company products. Being a Business Banking Manager builds relationships between themselves, team members, and clients and builds an understanding of clients' business, strategy, and risks. Helps team members provide advice to clients in particularly complex, challenging, or important situations. Additionally, Business Banking Manager ensures the team recommends and sells products such as loans, deposits, and fee-based services to appropriate clients. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Business Banking Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Banking Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     POSITION SUMMARY:
    Responsible for providing extraordinary customer service both internally and externally by taking a personal interest, developing relationships, and creating a positive experience with each customer he/she deals with. Provides assistance to each customer to determine their financial needs as well as handle his/her day-to-day transactions. Ensures operational efficiency and quality standards are met demonstrating compliance with all State, Federal and other applicable bank regulations.

    • Provides exceptional customer service building rapport and relationships.
    • Recognizes and builds upon sales and business relationship opportunities.
    • Strives to guarantee customer satisfaction by engaging with customers to welcome them, personalize the experience and determine the best way to serve them.
    • Embraces the Bank’s mission, CORE values and cultural foundation by taking personal initiative and setting a positive example for others to emulate.
    • Promotes the banks products and services.
    • Assists other team members so the bank is represented in a favorable light and actively contributing creative ideas for constant improvements.
    • Processes financial transactions, practices sound cash handling and answers inquiries and/or resolves simple to complex concerns on customer accounts.
    • Answers questions and/or resolves technical problems on customers’ accounts.
    • Takes charge of daily operations in absence of Relationship Manager.
    • Proactively assists Relationship Managers/Officers with deposit growth and acquisition.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong communication skills with ability to work well with customers, employees and others in a cooperative, positive manner.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to actively listen to others, interpret information, and interact in a positive, helpful manner.
    • Effective customer service skills that include assessing customer need, making recommendations for effective problem resolution consistent with standard practices and being focused on meeting customer expectation.
    • Ability to understand how to present features and benefits of products and services to customers with different needs.
    • Must possess excellent judgment with the ability to accept responsibility and handle confidential information.
    • Must be able to work effectively within a team environment and build solid relationships with all individuals he/she works with.
    • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks in a given situation. Must be able to adapt to change.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED Required
    • Two years of retail industry experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
