    Role Overview:

    The Business Manager role is to support the Markets COO in our delivery for the Markets division and the broker dealer LSI and ensure performance and activities are being driven with appropriate conduct and within relevant risk appetites.

     

    Specifically, the role will be split to act as the Point Person in supporting the Capital Markets business as part of the BAU DCM/Syndication processes as well as managing requirements pertaining to Prudential Liquidity Management.

     

    Day to Day Responsibilities will range across the following:

    • Bond Syndicate Ops
    • Business Management
    • COO Strategy

     

    Responsibilities

     

    Bond Syndicate Operations

     

    • Responsible for supporting the DCM/SPG and Syndicate desks to deliver primary issuances to the market and adhering to all process/regulatory requirements
    • Conduit between Bond Syndicate / DCM and internal partners including Markets colleagues across LBCM, LSI Operations, Middle Office, Legal, Compliance and Financial Markets (FM)
    • Administrating the Book-building processes during a primary issuance
    • Allocation support for the Syndicate desk
    • Syndicate Trade management (monitoring and administration of exceptions/shorts)
    • Deal File (iDeal) Management for the DCM/SPG/Syndicate desks by collating and handling all requisite documents
    • Administration of events/roadshows to further client relationships

     

    Business Management (CM and PLM)

    • Implementing and Maintaining an appropriate Control Framework around the First Line of Defense
    • Administrating the BAU processes on Markets with specific support on Joiners/Movers/Leavers, accesses, issue troubleshooting
    • Coordinating employee activities/performance/training
    • Identifying and detailing risk events, documenting and raising as appropriate
    • Supporting requests from 2nd and 3rd lines of defense in their monitoring of the business
    • Crafting/annual review of procedures, service level agreements, pricing frameworks, etc.
    • Updating dealer mandates & Records Management
    • Periodic desk reviews, controls testing and attestations
    • Periodic Regulatory submissions (FICC, Canadian IDE, etc)
    • Organizing, preparing and attending various committee meetings (LSI, NARC, Financial Markets Governance, E-Trading, Product Governance etc) and business partner forums, (MLD, GCT BUCF, Surveillance, etc)

     

    COO Strategy

    • Supporting the Business Management team in implementing strategic infrastructure and operating model across 13 sales, structuring & trading desks in Financial & Capital Markets
    • Supporting the COO by acting as a business partner for the global Prudential Liquidity Management desk
    • Supervising the day-to-day operation of Lloyds Securities Inc,
    • Work with the COO in identifying strategies to push the business forward and making more efficient processes

     

    Cross Training

    • As the prospective applicant gains more comfort in the role, cross training into other areas including LSI Middle Office and LSI Operations to have a wider bandwidth and ability to support/be supported as required.

    Qualifications

     Requirements:

     

    Education and Experience:

    • Ideally 5 years’ knowledge of and experience of the Financial Capital Markets business
    • Series 99 preferred but not required, with the appetite to attain the 99 license and potentially the 27 license in the future
    • Validated understanding of internal markets processes
    • Strong experience and knowledge of governance processes, control frameworks and risk management

    Key skills and knowledge:

    • Self-motivated, takes initiative and has the ability to efficiently organize, multi-task and prioritize a wide array of initiatives, with an interest in innovation
    • High level of organisation and time management to perform a wide variety of tasks, prioritize accordingly and be aware of deadlines.
    • Appetite to operate across a variety of time zones and geographies
    • Confirmed ability to successfully present and communicate issues, performance, ideas and solutions in a coherent and concise fashion in verbal and written format for committees and governance purposes.
    • Intermediary skills of MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Bloomberg.

     

    Salary range: $135,000 - $165,000
