Detailed Job Description
The Data Analyst is responsible for providing accreditation and analytic support to all current and proposed programs in the College of Health Sciences and Technologies at RIT. While the primary focus of the position is on the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of data to prepare for accreditation visits, it is also to guide educational and administrative innovation and improvements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, utilizing or designing various systems and procedures for processing and analyzing program, institutional and educational effectiveness data; managing data entry pipelines, developing and optimizing data management processes, preparing data sets, developing and maintaining dashboards, and preparing reports for administrators and accreditors. Position reports to the Coordinator of Assessment.
Major responsibilities:

Creates and manages college and program specific databases for accreditation and educational effectiveness needs. Translates data into user friendly reports for ongoing assessment and accreditation

Develops and implements data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Interprets data and results of statistical analysis to inform high-level conclusions, and produce necessary reports

Designs and implements web-based surveys, course-based, research and program assessments using multiple platforms, such as Qualtrics and myCourses

Prepares engaging data visualizations (tables, charts, graphs, etc.) through various software programs used for accreditation, administration, or marketing purposes

Supports development of accreditation reports, assists in site visitation, and other collaborative efforts with internal stakeholders and the Coordinator
Department/College Description
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree and 1-3 years of experience in an analyst role; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Analytical and quantitative skills

Experience responding to requests for information, including creating queries in response to ad hoc requests and summarizing data

Demonstrated experience working with data sets and data structures

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to collaborate effectively with others

Ability to communicate effectively
