    Cresset is looking for a motivated professional to join our Minneapolis-based team as a Business Development Associate. The Business Development Associate plays a critical role in supporting the local Advisory team in sourcing new business, managing existing prospect pipelines, and coordinating lead-generating events to maximize growth. This role is essential to local Advisor team organic growth efforts, ensuring the teams are fully aware of and are maximizing all available opportunities. The Business Development Associate will have the opportunity to work closely with and learn from the Advisory, sales, and business development teams as well as Senior Leadership.

     

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Support Advisor teams as well as the business development team in managing their prospecting efforts.
    • Source referral opportunities from clients’ networks in tune with their team’s client activity.
    • Identify ecosystem opportunities within their teams, including how to maximize existing networks and build new networks.
    • Anticipate referral-generating moments, coordinating a response on behalf of their Advisory teams to maximize the opportunity.
    • Create and manage various campaigns on behalf of their Advisory teams.
    • Generate Cold and Warm leads from the Advisory team’s ecosystem to run cold and warm campaigns. 
    • Track and manage all business development verticals, reporting on success daily, weekly, and monthly.
    • Identify trending companies and potential UHNW individuals associated with those companies for Cresset Advisors to pursue.
    • Support the coordination of business development and marketing efforts with their local Advisors to maximize results, including event, content, and RFPs.
    • Analyze all aspects of business development efforts (including large data sets in CRM) to determine which verticals are the most successful, meticulously mapping and reporting results to business development leadership.
    • Assist in managing and qualifying inbound inquiries from engaged team members’ networks.
    • Manage their team’s pipeline, ensuring timely weekly updates within the firm’s CRM.
    • Develop and manage their team’s marketing materials, ensuring they use the latest content.
    • Support practice management in all aspects of the sales cycle, including sharing best practices, tracking email success, sharing templates, scheduling follow-up meetings, managing administrative elements, and overseeing the pipeline of completed meetings to ensure all prospective clients are being contacted throughout the year.

    • Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics degree preferred
    • Relevant work experience in a similar capacity preferred, preferably in an RIA
    • Candidate must thrive in and be able to keep up with an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
    • High level of integrity and humility
    • Must be able to think critically, effectively, and anticipate needs and issues
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience owning projects & initiatives while delegating responsibilities as needed is a plus
    • Must have high attention to detail in all aspects of the role, work quickly and accurately
    • Must be self-directed and able to work with individuals at all levels, including executive management
    • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
