This position is responsible for the research and development of new sales opportunities with government and federal agencies both domestic and internationally.
Core Responsibilities:
- Researches and develops strategy defining new segments and target customers for new business development
- Identifies, vets, and pursues new truck sales, commercial and military, opportunities for Mack Defense
- Develops short-term strategies and sales tactics for negotiating and obtaining new business.
- Drives the growth of new governmental agencies
- Grow market share for existing channels and increase profitability for existing programs
- Assist in developing a network of partnerships both domestic and internationally where applicable
- Key point of contact and relationship manager of senior defense and governmental officials
- Assist in developing Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Foreign Military Funding (FMF) opportunities for programs of record
- Investigate and identify potential market opportunities
- Visit government installations, Forts, and bases to explore expanding white fleet sales
- Articulates Mack Defense’s product capabilities to current and potential customers
- Executes sales forecast activities and sales objectives
- Is the authority on key success factors for his/her respective responsibilities
- Primary customer point of contact with select groups
- Leads negotiations and executes potential opportunities with existing and potential customers.
- Develops strategic initiatives to establish a sales platform which will achieve the established annual targets
- Collaborates and sustains relationships with other governmental sales groups within the Volvo organization
- Identifies revenue growth opportunities for the regions and plays a lead role with the internal team members and distribution partners to execute on business development initiatives
- Ensures Mack Defense Truck opportunities are in line with financial and operational guidelines
- Attend and manage tradeshow activities when needed at select events
- Travels 50% of time
Critical Competencies:
- Must possess sensitivity to diverse cultures
- Strategic planner and thinker with analysis skills to drive the strategy
- Working knowledge of the FMS and FMF channels
- Able to communicate clearly with high-ranking military and civilian personnel
- Product knowledge to effectively communicate to potential customers
- Proven experience developing, implementing and delivering on sales goals

Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
- US Citizenship required (non-negotiable)
- 10 year prior US DoD service with either a focus in international programs development or Foreign Area Officer preferred
- 10 years of sales experience with a focus on the Tactical Wheeled Vehicle industry
- Working with other federal agencies such as DoD, DHS, and DoS a plus
- Working understanding of ITAR and EAR policies
- Create and sustain strategic customer relationships
- Accurately forecast and close sales commensurate with company goals
- Location - preferred to be based in Michigan but not required)
