Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Director of Business Development – Defense

     

    DCCA, a veteran owned information technology (IT) services provider, is seeking a Director of Business Development (BD) to help grow our Defense services business.   This role entails leading all Department of Defense (DoD) service organization business development activities as they relate to prosecuting DCCA’s DoD new business pipeline.  Responsibilities span the full business development lifecycle, from opportunity identification to award, and includes, but is not limited to, new business identification, customer engagement and relationship management, industry engagement, opportunity qualification, strategy development, pipeline management, capture support, and proposal support. 

    The Defense & Intelligence Division BD Director – Defense will partner with the DCCA Chief Growth Officer (CGO), the Defense & Intelligence Division’s Sr. Vice President, line, and functional resources to actively develop market strategies and new business opportunities that align with corporate goals and objectives.  In addition to broader market strategy execution, the BD Director will work closely with line, growth, and functional resources to develop, implement, and execute effective capture strategies for all opportunities within the Defense & Intelligence Division Defense portfolio.

    Candidates will possess a master’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.  Additionally, a minimum of five to 10 years of engineering, program management, or government sales/marketing experience is required.  An active TS clearance is desired.

     

    Demonstrated Experience (Required):

     

    • Identification, qualification, and capture of new business opportunities >$50M in the US Defense market and domain
    • Ability to build and maintain customer and industry relationships across DoD service organizations
    • Development of market strategies and long-range business plans
    • Development, implementation, and execution of effective capture strategies
    • Comprehensive and timely pipeline management
    • Successful interaction w/ customers and industry partners to enhance competitive position; ability to build customer, industry, and corporate network and overall positive visibility
    • Experience with Multiple Award ID/IQ, task order type contracts.
