Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Director of Business Development 

     

     

     At Select Specialty Hospitals, a division of Select Medical, we care for chronically and critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care.                      

    Responsibilities

    Directors of Business Development lead marketing and admissions efforts for hospitals. You will oversee a team of Clinical Liaisons and Admissions Coordinators in developing and nurturing professional relationships with physicians, discharge planners, payers and other clinicians in acute care hospitals.

    • Work alongside Liaisons in the field and develop relationships with hospital leaders at every level.
    • Be highly attentive to the needs of your team in the field by being available to remove obstacles and invest in continuous training and employee development.
    • Craft messaging that Liaisons can take into the field to improve understanding of and focus on our specialized level of care.
    • Use data to understand hospital and market trends and to advise teammates and referring entities in best practices.

    Qualifications

    We are seeking results-driven team players. Qualified candidates must be passionate about providing superior quality in all that they do.

     

    Minimum requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in either Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing or a clinical field.
    • 3-5 years of hospital or healthcare marketing/sales experience and supervising experience.

    Preferred qualifications that will make you successful:

    • Master's degree.
    • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and regulatory standards.
    • Proven success in relationship development and training/mentoring of team members.
    • Clinical License
