Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     About the Role:

    Our business development teams are dedicated to helping our potential clients problem solve, address challenges and seek business growth by identifying needs for which Sikich can provide solutions. Professionals in this role have extensive knowledge of business solutions and how to apply them to middle-market and enterprise-level organizations. Sikich's business development professionals are comfortable working with prospects in-person and remotely to address their questions and concerns. They have strong relationship-building capabilities, the ability to manage multiple ongoing opportunities and excellent follow-up skills

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify and research key markets and target clients for marketing and sales activity.
    • Develop tactics in coordination with marketing, in line with segment and priority initiatives to sign new clients and hit monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.
    • Prospect, consult and sell services to C-level executives and management for prospective new business customers.
    • Learn and have an in-depth knowledge of all Sikich services.
    • Team oriented approach to sales process.
    • Work with prospects to learn their business, understand needs and determine how we can best address their issues.
    • Engage with prospective clients via telephone, electronic and face-to-face customer meetings.
    • Support the development of proposals.

    Job Qualifications:

    • 10 years' selling and lead generation experience in the professional services industry.
    • BA/BS in business and/or extensive knowledge of business solutions.
    • Business development mentality with demonstrated success sourcing leads, qualifying opportunities, and closing deals.
    • Tenacious and results driven.
    • Demonstrated aptitude in acquiring and applying industry expertise successfully in sales cycles.
    • Very strong communication and presentation skills - you know how to communicate what matters. and ask the right questions to find the right solutions.
