Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     As a member of the location senior management team, the Director, Business Development position identifies, develops, and nurtures new business prospects and leads, builds strategic new business relationships, and pursues business opportunities with the aim of growing and expanding our business.

    Major Position Responsibilities

    • Conduct long range business planning, participate in location strategic and operational planning
    • Generate new leads and opportunities to ensure growth in our market space
    • Build solid, trusting, and measurable relationships with customers
    • Participate in customer visits, regional and national trade shows, and conferences as required
    • Manage both existing pipeline and new business opportunities
    • Contribute to the development of proposals and presentations for new business development materials
    • Adeptly present capabilities and value proposition to new clients
    • Develop Business Development Department budget and manage per approved plan
    • Other duties as assigned

    Basic Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in engineering field or equivalent
    • Fifteen years of experience in engineering or highly related field
    • Five years of supervisory/technical management experience
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

    Pay Range (USD)

    $165,180.53 - $247,440.79 annually

    Additional Compensation - ICP

    Hired applicant will be eligible to participate in the Company’s Incentive Compensation Program.
