Develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Additionally, Business Development Manager makes suggestions for new product offerings or improvements to sales or marketing efforts. May administer or negotiate new business proposals and prepare contracts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Business Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. The Role
The Business Development Manager, will identify and develop new business opportunities, build relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, and vendors. Evaluate existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn't. This individual will also be responsible for participating in networking and attending social events on behalf of the company.
