Business Development Manager manages the daily execution of the business development strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Coaches teams in best practices and effective tactics for prospecting new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Manager establishes team targets and metrics to measure the achievement of objectives. Develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Additionally, Business Development Manager makes suggestions for new product offerings or improvements to sales or marketing efforts. May administer or negotiate new business proposals and prepare contracts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Business Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Key Responsibilities:

    1. Identify and Establish New Relationships: Develop and nurture connections with new Speedwell clients, fostering long-term partnerships to drive business growth.
    2. Customer Relationship Management: Collaborate in the development of a Customer Relationship Management system to ensure the high-quality maintenance of all client relationships.
    3. Expert Guidance: Guide customers through the design and estimating process, offering expert advice and support at every stage.
    4. Ongoing Communication: Foster continuous communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle and beyond completion, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.
    5. Warranty Support: Address client questions or concerns during the warranty process, coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
    6. Community Engagement: Actively engage in strategic community organizations to enhance personal and company exposure and position Speedwell as a trusted industry leader.
    7. Coordination and Reporting: Coordinate with field staff to relay assignment details and compile a weekly report on manpower for distribution.
    8. Cultural Alignment: Understand and adhere to our company's vision, mission, values, and brand.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This position is responsible for the orchestration and supervision of the client development process from development of potential client candidates to ensuring customer connection through completion of projects. They may also serve as a coach or resource for other positions in the company.

    Required Education and Experience:

    -High School Diploma or equivalent

    -Working knowledge of the construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations

    -Basic understanding of Information Technology

    -5 years of sales or construction experience

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    -Four (4) year degree

    -Construction project management skills

    -Ability to read, write, and understand contract language, contract drawings, and contract specifications

    -Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) software
