Business Development Officer (Select Customer) develops and implements select customer referral strategies in order to increase client satisfaction and portfolio growth for affluent professional customers. Responsible for initial relationship and follow-up with prospects. Being a Business Development Officer (Select Customer) represents the bank to current and prospective customers and communicates directly with them. Develops and executes marketing and sales strategies according to business objectives. Additionally, Business Development Officer (Select Customer) prepares and presents sales results to top management. Retains and expands existing customer relationships and acquires new customers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Officer (Select Customer) contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     What You’ll Do at Monteith Construction

    We’re invested in expanding our Charleston footprint and looking for a sharp and agile team member to lead Business Development efforts in South Carolina, concentrating on the Charleston and Myrtle Beach metro areas. This is a dynamic role that will collaborate closely with the Business Development leads in Monteith’s Raleigh and Wilmington markets, in addition to the Estimating, Preconstruction, and Marketing teams.

    Below is a list of core duties you can expect to perform as the Business Development lead in South Carolina.

    • Analyzing market conditions to identify and pursue business opportunities that are a strong match for Monteith’s key strengths and value proposition
    • Growing relationships with existing clients, as well as establishing new relationships with prospective clients (i.e. public and private companies, institutions, development groups, architects, engineers, etc.)
    • Developing a pipeline of business leads for construction projects, and driving those leads through the sales funnel to secure awarded work
    • Engaging in industry and/or community events that promote Monteith’s brand and culture (i.e. trade outreach events, industry conferences, etc.)
    • Connecting with local trade partners to generate interest in Monteith bids for select projects
    • Utilizing Salesforce to internally track and communicate updates on opportunities
    • Collaborating closely with internal teams to meet client/opportunity deadlines—from RFP through early-stage Preconstruction until a GMP is reached
    • Positively contributing to Monteith’s Charleston office culture and community footprint

    Experience You Should Have

    • Passion for the built environment, with the ideal candidate having an Intimate knowledge of the Charleston real estate and construction market
    • Working knowledge and success in building a sales pipeline, converting leads to awarded business
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills to connect with various types of industry personalities/people
    • Drive to discover client needs and find creative solutions their toughest problems
