    Summary:

    SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, the Business Development Representative 1, will apply their personable, intuitive and strategic approach skills to engage and discover the needs of prospective small business customers. The incumbent is accountable for the development of new account relationships for specific targeted markets as directed by manager. The incumbent focuses on increasing sales by developing relationships, networking in the community and delivering information to the targeted market through a variety of methods. The incumbent is knowledgeable on Arvest products and services; cross selling all financial products, both personal and business, to the small business customer. The incumbent also assists with processing business loan requests through the appropriate departments. Usually works on simpler accounts and/or smaller businesses.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Perform all duties of the Business Banking Specialist.
    • Develop new relationships with prospects (businesses as well as individuals) in the targeted market area by designing, developing and implementing business development programs.
    • Conceive, develop, and execute performance objectives and overall plans for implementation in line with bank objectives that are acceptable to management.
    • Develop prospects through professional, networking, and bank referrals.
    • Establish account objectives and guidelines for all relationships within established bank guidelines.
    • Coordinate and assist/serve as a facilitator or moderator in product/service seminars in bank locations or within target market, as appropriate.
    • Maintain and develop extensive client, professional, public, governmental, and internal bank contacts for communications, service, and counseling in bank, trust, and investment matters.
    • May assist in the development of new Business Banking Specialists during training.
    • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

    • Support and uphold the Arvest Mission Statement.
    • Uphold the Arvest Code of Ethics and ensure that confidential information is safeguarded.
    • Maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all associates in order to ensure accurate and efficient operations and service.
    • Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank's overall operation.
    • Promote professionalism at all times.
    • Maintain involvement in community affairs to foster and promote the proper bank image at all times.

    Responsibilities:

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • Associates degree in Business, equivalent related education or related experience required
    • 2 years sales experience and successful completion of CFB4 within 1st year of employment or 1 year sales experience and prior completion of CFB4, required
    • Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.
    • Thorough knowledge of banking products and services required
    • Knowledge of Arvest banking products preferred
    • Relationship building and/or networking experience preferred
