Business Development Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and pursues business opportunities with partners or potential customers. Coordinates and negotiates with other departments to implement marketing initiatives. Being a Business Development Supervisor is responsible for maintaining close relationship with existing clients. Acquires new customers, retains and expands existing customer relationships. Additionally, Business Development Supervisor develops sales of products and services by investigating and resolving customer problems, recommends modifications to the product/service line, and coordinates sales negotiations with appropriate personnel. Responsible for meeting sales volume and revenue goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Motor Vehicle Department Supervisor

  • The Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) is seeking a talented, motivated, mechanic to lead Whiteface Mountain’s Motor Vehicle Department. The Motor Vehicle Department Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of Whiteface’s vehicles through overseeing and participating in the monitoring, maintenance and repair of all sorts of diesel and gasoline powered machinery including, but not necessarily limited to: snow cats, automobiles/trucks, excavators, snowmobiles, UTV’s etc.

    Located in the Adirondack Forest Preserve, Whiteface Mountain boasts the greatest vertical drop of any ski area east of the Rockies and proudly hosted the alpine events for the XIII Winter Olympic Games. Today, Whiteface offers 96 trails on 25 miles of skiable terrain over three peaks. In the summer, guests enjoy scenic rides on the Cloudsplitter Gondola, nature hikes, disc golf, or they may drive up the historic Whiteface Veterans’ Memorial Highway and enjoy a 360 degree view from the summit.

    Work is performed on site primarily at Whiteface. Weekend and Holiday work will be required as will work outside the normal workday as is necessary to fulfill obligations. Occasional travel may be required.

    Essential Duties (this list is not exhaustive):

    · Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair diesel and gasoline powered equipment

    o Conduct regular visual inspections and follow-up with repair of grooming equipment and other motorized equipment as needed

    o Change oil and perform other maintenance in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations

    o Regular checks: check all machinery and mechanical parts, including fluid levels, brake pads, and hoses and repair/replace as necessary

    o Conduct necessary minor adjustments and repair or replace worn/broken parts

    o When mechanical problems are reported, locate and diagnose problems, plan and perform necessary repairs, and report/document all issues and repairs

    o Maintain written or digital logs and records of all maintenance and repair work performed

    o Maintain accountability for tools, equipment and shop work areas

    o Ensure equipment is safe and operable and meet standards for inspection

    o Provide support to other operational departments as requested

    · Adhere and contribute to all safety procedures and protocols and report identified hazards

    · Responsible for overseeing Whiteface’s Motor Vehicle Department

    o Oversee a staff of mechanics and vehicle technicians

    § Schedule staff based on the needs of the facility

    § Evaluate performance and provide guidance on success

    § Work with management to implement corrective actions and discipline if necessary

    o Plan work, assign staff, and provide instruction and assistance in performing and inspecting work

    o Assess departmental needs and submit purchase requisitions

    · Perform other tasks as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Must be a journey level mechanic and possess a current US driver's license with an acceptable driving record in order to operate ATV's, snowmobiles and automobiles/trucks. Must be computer literate. Familiarity with Microsoft applications preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

    Other Considerations:

    Should be a self-motivator who is able to work independently on assigned tasks. Prior supervisory experience preferred.

    – Entry rate of $30.22/hr or $32.55/hr depending upon qualifications, skills, and experience plus annual longevity adjustments and increases in pay pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
