Business Development Supervisor jobs in Hammond, IN

Business Development Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and pursues business opportunities with partners or potential customers. Coordinates and negotiates with other departments to implement marketing initiatives. Being a Business Development Supervisor is responsible for maintaining close relationship with existing clients. Acquires new customers, retains and expands existing customer relationships. Additionally, Business Development Supervisor develops sales of products and services by investigating and resolving customer problems, recommends modifications to the product/service line, and coordinates sales negotiations with appropriate personnel. Responsible for meeting sales volume and revenue goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Responsibilities and Essential Duties of the Business Development Representative: 
    • Generates and develops new business to meet specified sales goals. 
    • Conducts 1 call block/office day per week and 4 field days per week. 
    • Achieves 10 or more weekly face to face appointments. 
    • Accomplishes 20 or more field based cold calls per week. 
    • 100% utilization of salesforce CRM after every call and appointment. 
    • Responds to all inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner. 
    • Prepares and presents sales proposals. 
    • Plans and manages potential prospects in large sales territory. 
    • Understands and communicates information regarding company products, services, and policies and procedures to new/potential customers. 
    • Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of Wildman industry product information. 
    • Continually gathers information on local competition and prevalent industry and business climate within given territory; communicates information to management and others as needed. 
    • Negotiates contracts/service agreements. 
    • Ensures that all required client paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time. 
    • Provides timely and accurate reports as required. 
    • Attends and participates in business/trade events as necessary. 
    • Attends and participates in team strategic sales meetings.

    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. 
    • Excellent problem resolution and consultative sales skills. 
    • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
    • Strong interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.   
    • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. 
    • Proficient on Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office software: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer.    
    • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English as the primary language(s) used in the workplace. 

     

    Education & Experience: 

    •  Bachelor's degree or equivalent, one to two-year’s experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  

     

    Physical Requirements: 

    • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. 
    • Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information. 
    • Understand and respond to a diverse population. 
    • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  
    • In most territories, travel is required by car but must be able to travel by plane, if necessary, to meet customer deadlines and appointments   
    • Proof of insurance and a clean BMV record is required. 
    • Ability to use telephone/cell phone to communicate with customers, inside sales and support, and outside sales personnel. 
    • Primarily travel based but also an inside average office environment.  
    • Must occasionally be in production area for pickup of customer orders, average time of 30 minutes or less in other areas than office.   
    • Average office noise levels with no PPE required.
