Business Development Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and pursues business opportunities with partners or potential customers. Coordinates and negotiates with other departments to implement marketing initiatives. Being a Business Development Supervisor is responsible for maintaining close relationship with existing clients. Acquires new customers, retains and expands existing customer relationships. Additionally, Business Development Supervisor develops sales of products and services by investigating and resolving customer problems, recommends modifications to the product/service line, and coordinates sales negotiations with appropriate personnel. Responsible for meeting sales volume and revenue goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Summary:

    The Director, Business Development is a key role within the Sales leadership team and will be responsible for leading a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and for defining and implementing a sales strategy within their region to deliver branded fuel growth. This position requires a seasoned sales professional with strong business acumen, excellent communication and relationship-building skills and a passion for growth.

    The successful Director, Business Development:

    ·         Leads a team of ASMs and develops Sunoco’s branded business within a defined multi-state geography to deliver EBITDA growth.

    ·         Defines Sunoco’s strategy within region and actively ensures strategy is updated based on changing market dynamics.

    ·         Partners with key suppliers (XOM, Chevron, Shell, etc.) within region to facilitate favorable deal economics to drive growth.

    ·         Allocates and directs resourcing according to defined strategy.

    ·         Partners with Sunoco’s Supply and Sales Operations teams to ensure economics of deals are accurate and result in a profitable construct.

    ·         Develops a healthy sales pipeline through the development and nurturing of relationships and effectively coaches team on best practices related to lead generation.

    ·         Assists team in negotiating deals, running economic models, developing proposals, and closing deals all within financial EBITDA metrics and targets.

    ·         Reviews deals and economic models of ASMs within team to ensure within stated guidelines.

    ·         Builds and nurtures prospective customers in distributor and dealer channels.

    ·         Creates a high performing team through effective coaching, mentoring, and development. Ensures team members have plans and are on track to realize EBITDA goals.

    ·         Ensures that team members are compliant in utilization of Salesforce and that EBITDA and capital forecasts are accurate.

    ·         Facilities and leads productive relationships and processes with supporting teams, such as credit and legal, to ensure customer experience is seamless.

    ·         Attends industry events and trade shows as needed.

    ·         Lead ad-hoc cross-functional projects as needed.

    • The Director level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of relevant job related experience.

    Working Conditions:

    ·         Usually, normal field and office working conditions.

    ·         Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

    ·         Overnight travel may be required.

    ·         Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
