Business Development Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and pursues business opportunities with partners or potential customers. Coordinates and negotiates with other departments to implement marketing initiatives. Being a Business Development Supervisor is responsible for maintaining close relationship with existing clients. Acquires new customers, retains and expands existing customer relationships. Additionally, Business Development Supervisor develops sales of products and services by investigating and resolving customer problems, recommends modifications to the product/service line, and coordinates sales negotiations with appropriate personnel. Responsible for meeting sales volume and revenue goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     is currently hiring for a permanent Human Resource Analyst 2 opportunity within our Employee Services Section. In this position you will have the opportunity to work in many different areas of HR such as: recruitment; classification; training; and more.     Note: This position is eligible to be hybrid, the in-person work location will be located in Salem.
    What you will do!
    • Coordinate recruitments including working with managers in developing job announcements, posting job advertisements, reviewing job applications, participating on interview panels, and providing excellent customer service to candidates.
    • Conduct a position classification analysis by reviewing the position’s purpose, duties, responsibilities, and distinguishing features to ensure positions are properly allocated.
    • Develop, organize, and provide training to managers and employees.
    • Answer employees’ questions regarding all aspects of human resources related programs.
    • Create a welcoming, friendly and open environment for staff.
    • Provide your guidance and expertise to employees and other HR analysts on topics including; Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), classification and compensation, recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and so much more!

    • Recruitment. Experience conducting full-cycle recruitments including drafting job announcements, posting advertisements, review candidates’ resumes, scheduling interviews, preparing interview materials, interviewing candidates, coaching managers on hiring practices and policies, etc.
    • Training & Employee Development. Experience developing and providing training content to managers and employees.
    • Classification and Compensation. Experience developing position descriptions, performing desk audits, completing classification analysis, and completing pay equity assessments.
    • Communication Skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to maneuver difficult and sensitive conversations with individuals and groups.
    • Initiative. Takes responsibility for deciding where the work need is and coordinate their daily schedule. The ideal candidate looks for opportunities to streamline current work processes and develop new procedures for efficient workflow. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
    • Teamwork. Ability to be part of a cross-functional team, be supportive to colleagues, and to build trust and rapport with people from all backgrounds and experience levels.
    • Confidentiality. Exceptional ability and experience maintaining confidentiality to the highest degree.

    What you need to qualify
    As a Human Resource Analyst 2
    A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior or Development, Business or Public Administration, the Applied Behavioral Sciences, Industrial Relations or a job-related course of study determined by the appointing authority; and two years of Human Resource professional-level experience related to the position; OR

    Valid Certification as a Professional in Human Resource awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute, and three years Human Resource professional-level experience related to the position; OR
    Five years Human Resource experience related to the position. Three of the five years must have been at the professional level.
    The State Certified Human Resources Professional (SCHRP) certification, awarded by the Oregon Chief Human Resources Office, substitutes for six months of human resource professional-level experience.
    Valid Certification as a SHRM Certified Professional awarded by a nationally recognized organization, substitutes for one year of human resource professional-level experience.
