Business Intelligence Director directs a business intelligence group centered on providing insight and aiding in business decision-making. Oversees the planning of projects to produce reports and perform meaningful quantitative or qualitative analyses addressing impactful business issues or questions. Being a Business Intelligence Director collaborates with other departments to identify and generate potential business intelligence initiatives, and ensures that business intelligence analysts have the tools, training, and understanding of the field to produce effective dashboards, reports, and metrics. Makes resource allocation and staffing decisions. Additionally, Business Intelligence Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Intelligence Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Business Intelligence Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     This role creates value for clients through unique and advanced uses of data and design thinking to inform strategic hypotheses and solutions.  You will be instrumental in driving data-driven strategies and recommendations across various critical areas, including:


    • Market Intelligence

    • Commercial Analytics  

    • Sales Operations and Targeting Strategies-

    • Go-to-market Strategy

    • AI Strategy

    • Customer Experience and Excellence



    Day-to-day skills required:


    Your skills are based on a blend of knowledge and experience with health data, consumer data, and business strategy.  You are deeply familiar with many traditional data sources but also think  outside the box when it comes to leveraging data and data technology in the healthcare space. This includes:

    • Healthcare commercial and clinical data sources (IQVIA, Symphony, Komodo, Optum,  etc)

    • Broad consumer and retail data sets (Nielsens, IRI etc)


    You are experienced in helping clients to think about new solutions to ongoing challenges being faced in the industry. This includes:

    • Sales operations and field force analytics in Pharmaceutical/OTC/CPG settings

    • Sales force sizing, call planning, sales targeting, territory alignment,  incentive compensation etc

    • Understanding of AI/ML and advanced analytics applications

    • Targeting and segmentation strategy, marketing and activation strategies


    You are someone that relishes the process of iterative, hypothesis-driven problem solving and brings structured thinking in ambiguous settings to the fore. This includes: 

    • Ability to convey complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders. 

    • Creative problem solving skills with a passion for innovation 

    • Proven ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment


    Your passion for data combined with your strong communication skills will support thought leadership throughout the agency. This includes:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Experience developing POVs, published articles, public speaking events

    Qualifications/Experience
    • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in business, life sciences, engineering or a related field.
    • Proven experience of 3-5 years in biopharma consulting/sales & marketing/commercial analytics/sales operations or related roles.
    • Working knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., SQL/Python/R) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus-    Demonstrated ability to turn data into actionable insights and strategies.
    • Previous experience in AI strategy or customer experience enhancement is a plus.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
