Business Intelligence Director directs a business intelligence group centered on providing insight and aiding in business decision-making. Oversees the planning of projects to produce reports and perform meaningful quantitative or qualitative analyses addressing impactful business issues or questions. Being a Business Intelligence Director collaborates with other departments to identify and generate potential business intelligence initiatives, and ensures that business intelligence analysts have the tools, training, and understanding of the field to produce effective dashboards, reports, and metrics. Makes resource allocation and staffing decisions. Additionally, Business Intelligence Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Intelligence Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Business Intelligence Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Summary:

    Simon’s internship program is designed to provide first-hand exposure to industry operations, as well as 1:1 mentorship and networking opportunities to students in order to supplement college educational programs in the areas of business, engineering, and construction management. Students in the program have the opportunity to work in various administrative and operational areas, contribute to company goals through completion of focused project work, and apply concepts learned in the classroom to business operations.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Power BI/Business Intelligence Intern with IT Support skills to join our team! Dive into the world of data analytics, visualization, and IT support while gaining valuable real-world experience. Get ready to unleash your data superpowers and make a difference! Throughout the summer, you will work with various cross-functional partners to understand the needs of the business and develop reports, dashboards, and other tools to drive effective decision-making and process implementation. 

     

    Main Responsibilities:

    •    Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
    •    Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
    •    Deliver solutions utilizing the suite of Microsoft Power Platform, Primarily Power BI
    •    Develop reports, dashboards, and other analytical tools to support various business functions
    •    Use data collection, reporting and analysis tools to provide digestible information to cross-functional partners
    •    Empower users by providing expert support in creating and modifying visually stunning Power BI visualizations and reports
    •    Capture your knowledge by documenting processes, procedures, and technical specifications
    •    Complete tasks required for Simon internship program
    •    Additional projects as assigned

    Education:

    •    Pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
    •    Valid Driver’s License and clean driving history preferred

    Skills:

    •    Previous experience with Power BI
    •    Ability to communicate proposed designs and progress
    •    Comfortable interacting with IT and non-IT partners
    •    Excellent customer service skills and a genuine desire to help people
    •    Ability to learn and act in a faced paced environment
    •    Ability to work on a cross-functional team
    •    Strong verbal and written communication skills
    •    Strong sense of urgency and accountability
    •    Well organized to handle multiple tasks, requests, and assignments

    Physical Requirements:

    •    Regularly required to use hands to manipulate objects such as paperwork and office tools/equipment
    •    Frequently required to sit or stand for long periods working on a computer or equipment
    •    Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    •    Frequently required to communicate professionally in-person, over the phone, and via e-mail
    •    Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
    •    Travel (up to 50%) with overnight stays away from home may be required to visit job sites and/or attend meetings 
    •    Required to wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines when visiting job sites
