    ROLE

    • This position requires an individual who is passionate about developing and maintaining relationships through Community Businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and business, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to think strategically


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Increase production by leveraging referral relationships and creating brand awareness in the community. 
    • Positively represent the Credit Union in the community while driving growth of credit union members and, products and services
    • Develops and executes a structured prospecting plan
    • Responsible for identifying opportunities, cross sell and make referrals for consumer accounts and loans, mortgages, home equity, business accounts and loans, cash management services and other offerings 
    • Is diligent, sees things through, follows up as needed and meets/exceeds production and service goals.
    • Identifies sales opportunities for existing and prospective clients through sales management and calling programs and determines the best product or service to meet business needs
    • Engages existing and potential members to communicate information concerning current loans, as well as determine future financing needs, and application support through the lending process.
    • Prepares marketing materials and may coordinate meetings, conferences and presentations. Prepare requested specialized reports or documents. Lead management and marketing sales tracking and development.
    • Demand of myself, and others, the highest levels of integrity, leadership, accountability and teamwork.
    • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, RESPA, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
    • Any other duties as assigned by manager.


    REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:  

    • 2 years of sales or business development experience. 
    • Experienced and proficient with Microsoft Office products.


    EDUCATION:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
    • College Degree preferred.
    • Active NMLS license preferred.


    SPECIFIC SKILLS:  

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed.
    • Ability to manage time and understand complex problems and to collaborate on and explore alternative solutions with management. 
    • Reliable self-starter that can work independently or as part of a team. 
    • Position is a sales role, it will require a positive, competitive personality that will need to adapt to different communication styles and be ready to deliver a tailored approach. 
    • Ability to negotiate and build professional relationships. 
    • Diplomacy is required when acting as a representative of the credit union.
    • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in this position. 
    • Must be able to conduct in-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. 
    • Able to learn and use all Mortgage Lending Software.
    • Ability to make formal presentations both internally and externally.


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including CRTs, typewriters, telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must have reliable transportation, unexpired driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.


    MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of member service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
